About the author

I’m Carla Martell, an illustrator and designer living in Auckland, New Zealand. As well as drawing silly animals with hats on, collaborating on multimedia projects and making art for children’s books, I also create fun things to collect, wear and decorate your walls with. Most of my work starts as hand-drawn illustrations, often in pen and ink, the old-fashioned way. I’m a big fan of printmaking, writing words that go with pictures and wrangling a naughty black and white cat who has no manners.
