Maddy Mara is the pen name of Australian creative duo - and lifelong friends - Hilary Rogers and Meredith Badger. Working together, they have created many international hit series including Dragon Girls (which has sold millions of copies worldwide), Itty Bitty Kitty, Jet Set Pets, Forever Fairies, Dragon Games, and the upcoming Max Beast. They also write charming and ridiculous picture books including My Dad Makes the World Go Around and Around, Brave in Every Which Way, The Greatest Mistakes that Went Right, and The Wonders of Never Giving Up. The authors live and work on the lands of the Wurundjeri and Bunurong Boon Wurrung people in Melbourne, Australia. His illustrations are inspired by a deep passion for midcentury culture and design. His first picture book Once Upon An ABC saw him shortlisted for the CBCA Crichton Award for best new illustrator and Just One Bee received the CBCA Honour Award for Picture Book Of The Year. When he's not busy with a book he can be found camping with his family in the great outdoors, taking walks with his dingo dog, Rusty, and annoying the neighbours with his rock band.
